What are the Régates Royales de Cannes?
The Régates Royales de Cannes are a classic yacht regatta sailed every September in the bay of Cannes. The 2026 edition, the 48th, runs from 19 to 26 September 2026: more than a hundred classic yachts from 8 to 35 metres, signed by the great names of naval architecture, race in one of the world's largest gatherings of classics, according to the Cannes tourist office. Between races the boats lie at the Quai Saint-Pierre and the Quai Laubeuf in the Vieux Port, below Le Suquet and a few minutes' walk from the Palais des Festivals.
The Regatta Village is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm with exhibitors, entertainment and a concert every evening, and guided boat trips follow the racing at close quarters. The event is organised by the Cannes Yacht Club, which celebrates its 165th anniversary this year. The 2027 edition is expected in September 2027; its dates are to be confirmed by the organiser.

Every September the fleet comes back to the bay. Nothing here is pre-filled for 2027 until the organiser publishes the dates; in the meantime an owner or a skipper can ask us to keep apartments for the crew, and the booking engine already answers on whatever dates you enter.

A classic yacht in racing trim is not a place to sleep, so the regattas fill the town with people who need a bed ashore. Crews, whose size grows with the boat, sail in during the week before, race every day the committee sends them out, and stay until the final Saturday: eight nights is the usual crew stay. Owners and their families follow the boat from the quays and the spectator craft. Naval architects, shipwrights and sailmakers use the week to meet clients, and enthusiasts and photographers come for two or three days to walk the Quai Saint-Pierre at dawn, when the varnish catches the light.
On these dates the minimum stay is 2 nights, though most regatta guests take the whole week. Bear in mind that the duty free summit TFWA opens the day after the last race, so the final nights of the regatta are also the first nights of a congress: the larger apartments go early.
The city
What is Cannes like during the Régates Royales?
The last week of September is the last week of the beach season in Cannes: the water is still warm, the beach restaurants are still serving, and the town has a sailing mood it wears at no other time. The Quai Saint-Pierre and the Quai Laubeuf, under the old town, are lined with varnished hulls and brass; the Regatta Village opens at nine and closes with a concert; on the water, the bay is white with sails from late morning to the afternoon finish. The cafés of the Suquet fill with crews in team shirts, and the restaurants around the harbour are booked for the week.
Our residence is at Cannes La Bocca, on the western shore of that same bay: 3.2 km to the Old Port, 100 m to the beach. When the day's course brings the fleet west you see the sails from the terraces and from the pool; when it does not, you have a quiet apartment, two pools and a supermarket 300 m away, and the bus along the seafront to the quays for the evening.

Three things a crew should settle before the regattas
Count beds, not people. A crew list changes until the last minute: a bowman joins for the weekend, the owner's daughter arrives on the Wednesday. Book on the number of beds the boat will need on its busiest night, and choose apartments whose living rooms convert, so that one extra sailor is a sofa, not a new booking.
Take the whole week in one go. The pre-filled link runs from 2026-09-18 to 2026-09-26; if the boat comes in earlier, move the arrival back in the engine rather than adding a second booking later. Remember that the TFWA congress starts the day after the last race and its delegates want the same final Saturday night.

What should a crew arriving from abroad expect at the residence?
Classic yachts come to Cannes from Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and further away, with crews that arrive by sea on the boat or by air the day before the first race. The residence is organised around people whose day is set by the race committee, not by office hours.
Keys from a locker, whatever the hour
Before you travel you receive a personal code; it opens a locker by the residence entrance where your keys wait. Check-in begins at 5 pm and nothing closes afterwards: a crew tying up at eleven at night collects its keys without waking anyone.
From Nice airport to the door
Count roughly 25 minutes by taxi for the 30 km, or the airport coach to Cannes station in around 45 minutes. Apartments are vacated before 10 am on the last day; ask for a later check-out if the next arrival leaves room for it.
Invoicing the owner, the yacht or the management company
Whether the stay is booked online or through a quote, the invoice carries the name you give, private person or company, with French VAT on a separate line. Several apartments for one crew: one invoice each, or a single one for the boat.
Bank cards from any country
Payment is made online by card, with the authentication your bank requests; a crew quote is settled the same way. No cash on site, no key deposit at a counter.

Why would a crew choose an apartment rather than hotel rooms during the Régates Royales?
Eight days of racing are eight days of early starts, salt-soaked clothes and long evenings on the quays. Hotel rooms above the harbour keep you close to the boat, at the rates and in the noise of regatta week; an apartment 3.2 km along the shore gives the crew what a room cannot: a kitchen for a proper breakfast at six, a terrace where the gear dries overnight, bedrooms with doors for the watch that wants to sleep, and a living room for the debrief.
Everything goes on one invoice, you choose how long to stay beyond the 2-night minimum, and a delivery crew that ties up after dark lets itself in with a code. For a family following the boat, the lagoon pool with its water slide and the beach 100 m away turn a regatta week into a holiday.

How do you house a crew of eight or more for the Régates Royales?
One apartment, booked online with the regatta dates in place, sleeps up to seven sailors. When should you book accommodation for the Régates Royales 2026?
For the 2026 regattas, now: the first race is on 19 September 2026 and the pre-filled link lists, live, the apartments still available from 2026-09-18 to 2026-09-26. Two things make the week tighter: the Cannes Yachting Festival has only just left the two harbours, and the TFWA congress opens the day after the last race, so sailors and delegates compete for the final Saturday night. If your preferred apartment is gone on those exact dates, try ending the stay on the Friday or bringing the arrival forward, and if that fails, the quote form gives us room to assemble a combination of apartments instead of saying no. For 2027, owners and skippers who race every year contact us during the winter, once the boat's season is planned, to have the same apartments kept; the dates will be published here as soon as the organiser releases them.
Can you watch the races from the residence or the beach?
Sometimes, and we would rather say it plainly than promise a grandstand. The races are sailed in the bay of Cannes on courses set by the race committee; the residence and its beach, 100 m from the door, sit on the western shore of that bay, so when a leg brings the fleet west you see the sails from the sea-view terraces and from the pool, as the photograph at the top of this page, taken from the pool, shows, and when the course stays off the Croisette you see white dots on the horizon. For the boats themselves, go to the quays: the Quai Saint-Pierre and the Quai Laubeuf are 3.2 km away, the Regatta Village is open from 9 am to 7 pm, and the organiser runs guided boat trips that follow the racing at close quarters. The beach gives you the swim; the harbour gives you the varnish.
Can an owner or a yacht's management company get one invoice for the whole crew?
Yes. State the name and address of the owner, the yacht's company or the sponsor when you book online or fill in the quote request; the invoice is then made out to that entity, French VAT shown separately, and e-mailed after departure. A crew arriving in stages, delivery crew on the Wednesday, racing crew on the Friday, goes through a quote so that every apartment carries its own dates; you decide whether you want one invoice per apartment or a single one for the boat. Cards are charged online with bank authentication, and a larger crew can settle against the quote. Parking spaces in the underground car park are booked with the apartments; the 1.85 m height limit rules out a van towing a tender, and we can suggest an alternative. Pets up to 22 kg are welcome, the ship's dog included. Tell us at booking if the paying entity is not the crew on site.
