Things to Do Around Cannes
Cannes · Côte d’Azur · Riviera
Check availabilityCan you stay at La Palme d'Azur without a car? Yes, and most guests do. The residence is in Cannes La Bocca, 100 m from the beach, 300 m from the shops and supermarket, 500 m from Cannes La Bocca railway station and two minutes from the bus stop for lines 1 and 2, which reach the Palais des Festivals and Cannes town centre 3 km away. Nice Côte d'Azur airport is 30 km away.
This guide gives the distances we have measured from the door, the ways to reach the airport, the beach and the centre, the calendar of the trade shows that fill Cannes, and the day trips that fit around a week in a one-bedroom apartment with sea view or a two-bedroom apartment. Where a journey time is not something we have verified, we say so rather than guess.
Cannes at a Glance
Where can I swim near the residence?
On the sandy beach 100 m away, a two-minute walk: the Cannes La Bocca beaches alternate free public sand and private beach clubs with loungers. They are quieter than the Croisette, 3.5 km away, and the lagoon pool at the residence is open from April to October for the days you prefer fresh water.
How do I reach the Palais des Festivals and the Croisette?
The Palais is 3 km away: five minutes by car, or about ten minutes by bus on lines 1 and 2 from the Mairie Annexe stop, two minutes on foot from the residence. The Croisette is 3.5 km and the Old Port 3.2 km. Delegates will find the show calendar on the congress accommodation page.
Where is the nearest supermarket, and the nearest station?
Shops and a supermarket are 300 m away, a four-minute walk. Cannes La Bocca railway station, on the coastal line, is 500 m away (about eight minutes on foot); Cannes Centre station, 2.2 km away, is reached by bus lines 1 and 2. Both serve the coast towards Nice and Antibes.
What to Visit Around Cannes
From the residence the Côte d'Azur unfolds along the coast and into the hills: perched villages, old ports, the perfume town and the Principality. The cards below describe each destination; we have not measured the journeys, so plan them with a map or the railway timetable. Guests staying in the sea-view duplex or the Standard Studio use the residence as the same base: the car park on site, or the train from Cannes La Bocca.

Things to Do Around Cannes
Beyond the beach, the Cannes area offers islands, red-rock hikes, Provençal markets, lavender and vineyards. The cards describe each experience without journey times; the two distances shown, the Croisette and the Forville market, are the ones we have measured from the residence.

How do you get there from La Palme d'Azur?
To the beach and the supermarket
Leave the residence and the beach is 100 m away, about two minutes on foot. The shops and supermarket of Cannes La Bocca are 300 m away, about four minutes. Neither needs a bus or a car, which is why families leave the car in the garage for the week.
To the Palais des Festivals and the town centre
Walk two minutes to the Mairie Annexe stop and take bus line 1 or 2: the Palais des Festivals is 3 km away and takes about ten minutes, the town centre about twelve. By car it is five minutes, with parking in the town's car parks. The Old Port, departure point for the Lérins Islands boats, is 3.2 km; the Croisette 3.5 km.
To and from Nice Côte d'Azur airport
Three options for the 30 km. A taxi or private car takes about 25 minutes to the residence, the simplest with luggage and children. The airport coach reaches Cannes Centre station in about 45 minutes, then bus line 1 to Mairie Annexe. The train takes roughly 70 minutes: shuttle from the terminal to Nice station, then the coastal line to Cannes La Bocca, 500 m from the residence.
To Antibes, Nice and Monaco by train
Cannes La Bocca station, 500 m away, is on the coastal line: trains run east to Antibes, Nice, Villefranche, Èze, Monaco and Menton, and west to the Estérel and Saint-Raphaël. Cannes Centre station, 2.2 km away, has the faster and longer-distance services.
Arriving by car
The residence is at 6 rue de la Verrerie, Cannes La Bocca. The underground car park is booked per night and has a height limit of 1.85 m. Keys are collected with your personal code at the kiosk by the entrance, from 5 pm, at any hour of the night.
What guests say about getting around

Jesper V. (August 2019): "Sandy mediterranean beach just across the street, and 15 minute bus ride to the commercial center of Cannes."
