Check AvailabilityWhat does the La Palme d'Azur residence in Cannes La Bocca offer on site? Two outdoor pools open from 1 April to 31 October, a poolside restaurant and bar, a secure underground car park, free fibre Wi-Fi, a key kiosk that hands over your keys at any hour, a table-tennis table, lifts and landscaped gardens, 100 m from the beach and 3 km from the Palais des Festivals.
This page answers the questions British, American and Scandinavian guests ask before booking: when the pools are open and whether they are supervised, what the restaurant serves and in which months, how tall the car park entrance is, what is in the kitchen, which apartments are air-conditioned, and how self check-in works when your flight lands at midnight.
Each apartment category has its own page with the beds, the kitchen and the bathroom in detail: the Standard Studio, the studio with sea view, the one-bedroom apartment with pool view, the one-bedroom apartment with sea view, the two-bedroom apartment with sea view, the duplex and the superior duplex. Delegates will find dates and minimum stays on the congress accommodation page.
Residence amenities
Two outdoor pools
Open every day from 1 April to 31 October, 9 am to 7.30 pm: a lagoon pool with a beach-style entry, gradual depth and a water slide, and a second pool for swimming lengths, with sun loungers around both. The pools are unsupervised: there is no lifeguard, and children stay under adult supervision.
Café Bleu, beside the pool
The residence's restaurant and bar sits on a terrace beside the lagoon pool, not on the seafront. Open from 1 April to 31 October, 9 am to 8 pm, for breakfast, lunch, drinks and an early dinner, and available for private hire. Menu, hours and group formats are on the Café Bleu page.
Underground car park
Secure, on site, charged per night and booked in advance. The height limit is 1.85 m: roof boxes, campervans and high vans do not fit. Spaces are limited during the Film Festival and the trade shows, and the nightly rate is lower when you book direct than through the booking platforms.
Free fibre Wi-Fi
Fibre broadband is included in every apartment and in the shared areas, at no charge. Delegates work from the dining table during MIPIM or Cannes Lions; families stream in the evening.
Self check-in, 24 hours a day
There is no reception desk. Before arrival you receive a personal code; at the entrance, the key kiosk opens a locker with your physical keys, at any hour, from 5 pm on the day of arrival. Early check-in from 11 am and late check-out until 1 pm can be requested for a fee, subject to availability.
Gardens, table tennis and lifts
Landscaped Mediterranean gardens with palms and olive trees, free to wander at any time; a table-tennis table for the children; lifts in the buildings for luggage, pushchairs and tired legs after the beach.
What every apartment includes
A kitchen with hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster and kettle; a private bathroom with hairdryer; a flat-screen television; a balcony or terrace with furniture; central heating; an iron and a vacuum cleaner. Reversible air conditioning is fitted in the one-bedroom, two-bedroom and superior duplex categories only.
Linen, towels and toiletries
Bed linen, bath and hand towels and a welcome set of toiletries are provided for bookings made on lapalmedazur.com. Beach towels are not supplied. Guests leave the apartment tidy at the end of the stay; end-of-stay cleaning can be added as a paid option.
Pets
Pets under 22 kg are welcome with a valid vaccination certificate, for a nightly supplement. Please mention the animal when you book so that the apartment and the supplement are set up before arrival.
Included & optional extras
Included in every direct booking: the apartment and its kitchen, bed linen and towels, welcome toiletries, fibre Wi-Fi, television, the pools and gardens in season, self check-in and key collection. The tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is added to the booking total, as French regulations require.
Optional and paid, added when you book or requested afterwards: the underground car park, a pet, early check-in from 11 am, late check-out until 1 pm (subject to availability) and end-of-stay cleaning. A refundable security deposit is taken by card seven days before arrival and released within fourteen days of departure; the amount is shown at booking.
Practical answers about the residence
When are the pools open, and is there a lifeguard?
Both pools open on 1 April and close on 31 October, from 9 am to 7.30 pm daily. There is no lifeguard: swimming is at your own risk and children must be supervised by an adult. The lagoon pool has a beach-style entry with gradual depth, which is why families with toddlers favour it; the second pool suits lengths.
Is Café Bleu open all year, and does it have a sea view?
No to both. Café Bleu serves from 1 April to 31 October, 9 am to 8 pm, on a terrace beside the lagoon pool. The sea is seen from the apartment terraces of the sea-view categories, not from the restaurant. Outside the season, the kitchen in your apartment and the shops 300 m away take over; the restaurant page and the local guide explain the options.
How does self check-in work if I arrive at 2 am?
Exactly as it does at 6 pm. Your personal code is sent before arrival; the key kiosk at the residence entrance opens a locker containing your keys, 24 hours a day, from 5 pm on arrival day. Check-out is before 10 am, by dropping the keys back at the kiosk.
Which apartments have air conditioning?
Four of the seven categories: the one-bedroom apartment with pool view, the one-bedroom apartment with sea view, the two-bedroom apartment with sea view and the superior duplex, each with a reversible unit and its own remote. The two studios and the standard duplex have central heating and blackout blinds but no air conditioning.
What is the car park height limit, and can I reserve a space?
The entrance is 1.85 m high. Standard cars fit; a car with a roof box, a high SUV or a van does not. Spaces are charged per night and reserved when you book or afterwards, while availability lasts; during the major Cannes events they go first.
What is in the kitchen, and what should I bring?
Every kitchen has a hob, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher, a coffee machine (capsule or filter depending on the unit), a toaster, a kettle, pans, crockery, cutlery and a dining table, plus washing-up basics. Bring a type E plug adaptor if you travel from the UK or the US; the supply is 230 V.
Deposit, tourist tax, tipping: how does payment work?
A refundable security deposit is taken by card seven days before arrival and released within fourteen days of departure. The tourist tax is added to your booking total. Tipping is not expected in France; service is included in restaurant prices, including at Café Bleu.
What do guests say about the facilities?
Hubert F. (Google, December 2021): "Close to shops, restaurants, the train station, bus stops, and the sea (100m). Everything is within walking distance. Two swimming pools, a restaurant, and underground parking." Anne M. (July 2023): "Nice place with two lovely swimming pools and the sea right next door on foot." Pascaline T. (October 2023): "Superb, very well-maintained residence, immaculate grounds and pools, shops and restaurants 2 minutes away."
